Agung Gunawan ，Agung Dancing Centre 的藝術總監，現為印尼當地具名氣和資歷、地位的舞者、編舞、傳統劇場導演/評審及演唱家。

​

1971年於印尼中爪哇出生，舞歷至今已逾四十多年，師承並受專業培訓於多位印尼日惹傳奇性的大師Bagong Kusudiharjo, R.M. Ywana jono,R.Aj Sri Jadarhati ，還有留學加洲，隨團Pina Bausch 德國巡演的恩師M.Miroto。他擁有紮實傳統舞蹈基礎，也從他那群獨特有趣，眼界異於一般印尼藝術家的老師們接觸到更多如舞踏、Martha Graham技巧等跟印尼舞軌/身體使用習慣偏離的前衛現代舞風格、身體哲學或創作思考模式。

2005年他更決定要讓自己突破他的藝術創作常規，不只複製可卻自傳統民間智慧/哲學發展成為一個能擁有自己身體表演系统的獨立藝術家，他更自爪哇嚴謹精練的傳統舞訓練系統及神秘而靠近自然、眾生、動物、靈性的哲學，再拼合其於自己在「呼吸、聆聽、感受、飄浮」的體會，又或自爪哇信仰上堅持的「專注、意識度、自信、不抗拒、不降服」更深層的見解，建立出他一套身體訓練糸统。2021 年在疫期間也正藉他50之年，他決定回歸那個被印度教寺廟群及火山包圍著的南部小村落;那個自己成長及習舞的地方，建立Agung 舞蹈中心，他希望ADC是一個可讓他有更多不同斬新表達或嘗試，並能反映自己的平台，同時也願境這處獨立自主的平台也能為他跟其他本地或外國藝術家提供一個表演美學交流及藝術旅程成果分享的空間。

Solid foundation in traditional dance with 40 years experiences.His wider dance vision by his exposing to more different avant-garde modern dance styles/choreography/ philosophies from his legendary mentors Bagong Kusudiharjo, R.M. Ywana jono, R.Aj Sri Jadarhat，M. Miroto. His perspectives very different to most of typical Indonesian artists, and his academic journey already covered many Eurasia & Republic countries with his performances/Art ambitious or education .

 

2005 he decided to rediscover his own dance language/system that transcended the two-dimensional Wayang Wong concept.He explored & deconstructed the relationship & aesthetics between traditional court/mask dance and contemporary body creation from the philosophy, customs, and folk/rural wisdom of Central Javanese. 2021 ,he founded Agung Dance Centre in his home town to create more different Art varietion by providing an independent Art platform for local/overseas exchange.
